The Battle of Gog and Magog

Posted: April 30, 2011 in Prophecy

There have been a lot of events happening in the Middle East over the past few months. The Lord has opened my eyes since these events started happening, and I have started to study Bible prophecy because of the Lord’s guidance. He wants us to know what is going on in the world. He wants us to remain watchful for the signs of His return, and as I have already mentioned many times, the signs are right in front of our faces. In Matthew 24:39, Jesus compares His return to the story of Noah and the flood. “People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the Flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes.” Do you want to be swept away with the world when he returns?

Over the past few months, the channel button on my TV remote hasn’t changed once. I turn my TV on to see Fox News every time. The Middle East was the main story for at least 3 months, until the inability of our government to make a decision about the nation’s budget, the Royal Wedding in the UK, and now with the horrible natural disasters that are going on throughout the United States, captured the top spots. Still, even with these destructive events here in our own country, stories from the Middle East always persist to appear in the news.

To fully recognize why the events in the Middle East right now are so important, we need to take a look at Bible prophecy. In Ezekiel 38 and 39, God is revealing the battle of Gog and Magog, to the prophet Ezekiel. God tells Ezekiel about all of these armies that will form together from different nations, all with one purpose: to destroy Israel. Sound familiar? This is the same goal of the radical Islams in the Middle East.

Now I’m sure if you open your bible right now and read Chapter 38, you would be wondering, “What are all these weird names?” Let me explain. In Ezekiel 38:2, it says, “Son of man, prophesy against Gog of the land of Magog, the prince who rules over the nations of Meshech and Tubal.” Now Gog could be either a single person, or a symbol of all the evil in the world. Whether symbolic or literal, Gog represents the aggregate military might of all the forces opposed to God.  I’ve heard from many different sources that Magog is the nation of Russia. John Hagee has said that the lineage of Turkey leads to the nations Meshech and Tubal.

Now Turkey has been a pretty good ally to the United States and Israel…until recently. Within the past year Turkey has had a complete turn around, and is now forming alliances with Iran and other Middle Eastern countries that have radical Islams.

Continuing in the second part of verse 4 – 5, it says, “I will mobilize your troops and cavalry and make you a vast and mighty horde, all fully armed. Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya will also join you, too, with all their weapons.” If you can remember from World History, Persia has almost always been a major nation throughout much of the Middle East. At certain times in history the Persians have controlled close to half of the world (before the discovery of the Americas). The Persian Empire today is Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

As of right now, Iran is probably the largest threat to Israel and the United States. What? Threat to the U.S.? That’s got to be wrong right? I mean no one can threaten us. Think again. These countries like Iran, North Korea, and China…they laugh at us. They see the crushing national debt, even if our own citizens and leaders don’t (or choose to ignore it). They see that the value of the dollar is declining. And as soon as we have an economic collapse, or any other event that leads to the United States inability to protect Israel, is exactly when they are going to strike. I will say more about these things when I talk about Glenn Beck’s documentary Rumors of War II: The Last Days. You really will not believe what you are reading.

Now you can read on in Ezekiel Chapter 38 and 39 and it tells more about the Lord’s plan. I will more than likely come back to these two chapters a lot. But for right now we need to realize that what the Bible tells us is that all of these nations are going to come together for the main objective of Israel’s destruction. These events in the Bible and the events of the Middle Eastern countries are so much alike that it is hard to not realize that we are living in the last days.

Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood

Posted: April 30, 2011 in News

One of the first countries in the Middle East to start a revolution against its government was Egypt. Everyone claimed that the rebellion was to oust Hosni Mubaruk, who had been in office for more than 30 years. It was an outcry for democracy, peace, and freedom. Or at least that is what they wanted you to believe.

A very important organization that you all need to know about, and you may recognize the name, is the Muslim Brotherhood. This organization’s roots start at the end of WWII, with the Islamic believers of Hitler’s anti-Semitism views. Like Hitler, they also believed in the complete genocide of the Jewish people. This is the radical Islamic extremists that will do anything to reach their final objectives: to unite all muslims, destroy the nation of Israel, and dominate the world.

This is their motto:

– Allah is our objective.
– The Prophet is our leader.
– Qur’an is our law.
– Jihad is our way.
– Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.

I personally believe that the Muslim Brotherhood, in coalition with other Islamic extremist groups,  is behind most, if not all, of the protesting and overthrowing of the governments in the Middle East.
