10 Signs That We Are the Last Generation

Posted: April 22, 2011 in Prophecy

John Hagee has put together 10 signs that tell us we are the terminal generation; the last generation before the Lord’s return. In Matthew 24:34, Jesus tells the disciples, “I assure you, this generation(or this age) will not pass from the scene before all these things take place.” These things he was talking about are the signs John Hagee has brought to our attention. Lets get to it.

1. The Knowledge Explosion

The Knowledge Explosion? What? Take a look at Daniel 12:4. It says, “But you, Daniel, keep this prophecy a secret; seal up the book until the time of the end. Many will rush here and there, and knowledge will increase.” Closing and sealing up the book meant that it was to be kept safe and preserved. Daniel had no idea what God was talking about, much like all the other prophets. They didn’t know how life is like in this age we live in, but we can see events as they unfold, for we are in the end times.

Now in the scripture it says, “Many will rush here and there.” Is that not what people are doing now? We all think that we have so much to do that we forget who’s really in charge of our lives. We definitely are not; God is. So, what about this last part, “and knowledge will increase?” Well, has our knowledge increased within the last hundred years? From the time of the Garden of Eden to the 20th century there was no “knowledge explosion.” Take into account these examples:

Transportation: From the time of the Garden of Eden to the 20th century, people rode horses everywhere. Just within the last century we now have automobiles, airplanes, super-sonic flight, and even the ability to send people to outer-space!

Communication: From the time of the Garden of Eden to the 20th century, people used signal flares and other primitive ways to communicate. Now we have telegraphs. telephones. cell phones, television, and yea you guessed it, Facebook.

I think you get where I’m going. There are many, many examples.

2. The Re-birth of Israel

This is the most important event in recent events in relation of bible prophecy. We all know that after the Holocaust and WWII, on May 15, 1948, the nation of Israel was established. Isaiah 66:8 says that a nation will be born in one day. In one day, Israel was formed, and this prophecy was fulfilled. In Matthew 24:32-33, Jesus is talking about Israel when he says, “Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its buds become tender and its leaves begin to sprout, you know without being told that summer is near. Just so, when you see the events I’ve described beginning to happen, you can know his return is very near, right at the door.” So if Israel is symbolized by the fig tree Jesus mentioned, isn’t summer near? I mean look at Israel now. It has one of the most advanced military in the world, following close behind the USA, and it has nuclear weapon capabilities. Right now, and until God’s return, Jerusalem is THE center of our universe. So pay close attention folks.

3. The Birth of Nuclear Warfare

Nuclear warfare? In the Bible? Where you say? “And the Lord will send a plague on all the nations that fought against Jerusalem. Their people will become like walking corpses, their flesh rotting away. Their eyes will shrivel in their sockets, and their tongues will decay in their mouths.” – Zechariah 14:12. Now take a minute to picture what happens to the human body when a nuclear explosion detonates. “Under these extreme conditions, the human body melts. Eyeballs, facial features, internal organs all melt” (wmdawareness.org). <==See this site  if you don’t believe me. Ok, so lets say you lived anytime before the 1940s. You would have no idea what this verse in Zechariah meant, but now we do. And let me tell you…A nulcear exchange is a lot closer than you probably think.

4. Universal Deception

This is a sign that is pretty apparent if you take a second to actually think about it. We are living in a world of deception. In our society today, you see many people who refuse to take responsibility, and who refuse to be accountable for their own actions. Welfare? EBT/Food Stamps? Government handouts? I could seriously keep going for at least an hour. Speaking of government, politicians are the role models for this deception. They can never just stand up for what they really believe in or say what is right or wrong, good or evil, because of this fog of political correctness.

5. Famines

Matthew 24:7 – “The nations and kingdoms will proclaim war against each other, and there will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world.” Speaks for itself. Africa has had major famines in the past 3-4 decades because of the lack of food and disease.

6. Pestilence

A pestilence is a contagious or infectious epidemic disease that is virulent and devastating. There are many, many pestilences today, but some that stand out, ones that have broke out in the last century, are: cancer, AIDS, Alzheimer’s, and Diabetes.

7. Earthquakes

This one is also easy to identify. The first thought that probably just came to your mind is the 9.0 magnitude earthquake that recently happened in Japan. Well check out this verse: “And there will be strange events in the skies—signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And down here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides.” – Luke 21:25. First of all, did you hear about the changes made to the horoscopes? Yea, those pointless signs like Leo and Cancer that each person is given according to when they were born? Well, NASA has determined that, because of the magnitude, and multitude, of earthquakes we have been having, the Earth’s figure axis has changed, thus causing the Earth to wobble a bit differently as it rotates (nasa.gov). This apparently caused the horoscopes to change. (For example, I was a Leo. Now I am a Cancer. Not that I really care…). Just something to think about.

Back to the last part of the verse. “nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides.” This immediately set off a lightbulb in my head. What else was involved in the earthquake in Japan? Yep. The tsunami. Man, bible prophecy is exciting right?

8. International Television/World Wide Web

In Revelation chapter 11, God told John about two witnesses who would prophesy in Jerusalem for 1,260 days. If you want to read more about them, the Bible tells about the powers they receive from God in verses 4-6. Now, when these witnesses complete their testimony, they will be killed by “the beast that comes up out of the bottomless pit.” Their bodies will lie in the main street of Jerusalem for three and a half days. During this time, all peoples, tribes, languages, and nations will come to stare at their bodies (Rev. 11:9). Think about this…How is every person in the world going to be able to see these two witnesses in only 3 and a half days? You guessed it. International television and/or the internet. International television has only been around for about 60 years. The internet was created in 1990.

9. Scoffers

A scoffer in the Bible is a person who mocks the Lord. 2 Peter 3:3-4 says, “First, I want to remind you that in the last days there will be scoffers who will laugh at the truth and do every evil thing they desire. This will be their argument: “Jesus promised to come back, did he? Then where is he? Why, as far back as anyone can remember, everything has remained exactly the same since the world was first created.” Wow, does that not describe the world we live in right now? I think it is amazing that the fact that people are laughing at and mocking Jesus Christ is a sign itself of his return.

10.  The Gathering of the Russian Jews into Israel

“In that day,” says the Lord, “when people are taking an oath, they will no longer say, “As surely as the Lord lives, who rescued the people of Israel from the land of Egypt.” Instead, they will say, “As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the people of Israel back to their own land from the land of the north and from all the countries to which he had exiled them.” Then they will live in their own land.” Russia, which is where many of the Jews ended up after WWII, is the north that is mention here. After the establishment of Israel, they returned to the land God promised them.

Now many ask the question of why are these things true now and not at any other time before in history? That number two sign up there is the key, the catalyst for all these other signs to true right now. The biggest point that needs to be made here is that all of these events have lined up perfectly with God’s Holy Word.

Many people do not want to hear this prophetic news, but we have to realize that God is coming back, and it is very soon. So don’t let Him catch you off-guard. Live your life for Him and forget all of these insignificant worldly things that gain all of our attention. If your life in right, there is no need to be afraid. Praise the Lord that he is coming! I leave you with Luke 21:32 – “So when all these things begin to happen, stand straight and look up, for your salvation is near!”
